Pada29 Juli 1947 pagi, tiga pesawat AURI menjatuhkan bom di Semarang, Salatiga, dan Ambarawa. Serangan itu sempat membuat panik tentara Belanda. Namun, beberapa jam berselang, pesawat Belanda menembak jatuh pesawat Dakota VT-CLA milik AURI yang tengah membawa persediaan obat-obatan bagi kepentingan perjuangan.
